Mission Statement
The goal of Theatre Ministry is to forge meaningful connections between people and the arts by remaining inclusive and diverse in all spaces and offerings.

Ministry Vision

Theatre Ministry, a branch of Worship Life at Olmsted Community Church, strives to meet the needs of the arts community through a variety of performing arts opportunities. This ministry recognizes the ongoing limitations and/or removal of funding for arts programming within the community at large, and seeks to create opportunities & support for individuals to express themselves artistically through a variety of outreach programs.

Ministry Programming - OCC Theatre
Each year we produce a full scale production complete with costumes, a set, lights & sound - the works! Onstage or off, we welcome you to join in on all of the fun.

In Service Performances

Join us for special Sunday service performances featuring skits, poems, musical numbers, etc.

Have something you’d like to perform or seen performed? Let us know - we’d love to hear from you! Reach out to Gary Halstead *insert contact* for more information.

Workshops

Ready to ace those acting skills, learn a little more about the light board or craft a cool costume? Our free workshops provide you with a wide variety of educational opportunities in the arts. Taught by knowledgeable individuals, these hands-on workshops allow you to brush up on a skill or try your hand at something new.

Our support for the arts goes beyond the building! As a ministry, we want to extend our support to the projects of artists throughout the community. Keep an eye on our calendar below for our next group outing.

Who We Are

OCC Theatre is an outreach program run by the Theatre Ministry at Olmsted Community Church. Located in the heart of downtown Olmsted Falls, OCC Theatre strives to be a "community first" theatrical group where all are welcome. All of our productions are family friendly and consist of multigenerational casts, so whether you prefer to be onstage or off, there is always a place for you to learn, grow and create with us!

How Do I Get Involved?

Ready to get onstage?
Our ultimate goal is to have fun and create together as a community so our auditions are very open and relaxed. We ask those who are interested in performing, to engage in a variety of group acting exercises and theatre games alongside the typical script reading process. Be sure to stay tuned for audition announcements.

Looking for a backstage role?
Your creativity is needed behind the stage just as much as those on it. While any previous experience is a plus, we pride ourselves on being a place where you can learn & enhance your skill set in a low stakes environment. Whether it’s creating sets, building costumes, running our lights/sound, etc. we will work with you where you’re at to create a fun, educational experience for all.

Interested in directing?
Our outreach program is driven by strong volunteerism throughout the community. While we are a non-profit organization, our team is ready with an array of resources to help make your experience as rewarding as possible. Our goal is to create a low stakes environment where you can test out your creativity and hone your skills. We want to work with you no matter what your skill level. When you’re ready, reach out to our program team and we will set up a discovery meeting so you can learn more about our process and we can learn more about you!

*Please note: All participants over the age of 18 will be required to pass a background check through Olmsted Community Church prior to participation in the production*
